Wright's Igloos - The Ultimate Hunting Blind
by Brian Hughes

Mike Wight, Texas businessman from Ft. Worth, has found an interesting second life for the fiberglass tank. Back in 1993, Mike built a few goat and emu shelters for his ranch. Neighboring ranchers began asking for shelters for their herds, and Wright’s Igloos was born!

Using a little imagination led Mike to build everything from well houses, tack rooms, feed rooms and all sizes of storage sheds, to Playhouses for the kids, cabins, and my favorites, deer blinds and deer camps. That’s right, you can make an entire deer camp if you would like! The style and size of your Igloo defines the storage purposes--for instance you may need a feed room. No problem, just take a four rib model ( the vertical measurement of your Igloo is in “ribs”, with each rib approx. 17” in height) add a vent and door and you are set to go! Things like greenhouses take a little more imagination, by cutting down one side you have a horizontal lie and Mike can build-in the greenhouse doors and end wall as per your specs, for a totally custom building! An inside diameter of seven feet, eight inches is standard but other sizes are available. Rib sizes range from 4-rib models( 44” to base of windows) to the massive 14-rib model (18’6” to base of window!), with 10x20 inch hinged windows being the most popular. Of course windows can also be cut on a custom basis.

Prices for Igloos compete with the wood and metal market, and when painted with epoxy paint are virtually maintenance free! All Igloos are built to customer order. From plain shells to flooring, lofts, paint and solar panels, about any accessory can be added to fit the customers needs.

Time from order to pick-up or delivery will vary with each blind or building depending on the number of options and complexity of the structure, but usually runs 6-8 weeks. From a goat to a boat, building or blind you can’t beat an Igloo!
