Freedom Holder-Glue Mount
I found Rugged Gear in Brazos Feed and Supply in Waco,Tx. About a year ago. Looking at the display I saw several goodies i thought were useful and made note of the company name. Upon further investigation I found they made, among other products, a series of rifle racks for your vehicle. I had been looking for a GOOD vehicle rack so i called and they sent me the single hook glue mount. Now first off, I didn’t want a permanent rack, after all I may get a new truck, travel through a state with different laws and so forth. The glue mount can be removed if desired.
Another neat feature is the Rugged Gear Dual-Lock tabs. Much like an industrial sized velcro, the tabs allow the mounts to be removed, leaving the backing in place. Remove your rifle at night for security and replace in the morning by just sticking in place! Also handy, order extra sticky back tabs and you can put them in several vehicles and use the rack tabs in every one! One thing I had worried about with a sticky-type mount was having the thing fall off at a bad time, like any time my rifle was in it! Let me tell you, no worries here! I tried to pull the mount off a couple of different times and left it in the brutal Texas sun on purpose for about four hours. When I opened the truck it was an oven, searing heat slapping me upside the face I ventured forth and grabbed the mount, nothing! Solid as could be! I really expected it to come off in my hand and I would not have been disappointed if it had. After all, I was trying to mess it up right?
While it is NOT recommended by the manufacturer, I know of one person (GARY) that attached the sticky base to the OUTSIDE of his Jeep for a whole weekend! Never slipped or moved, never lost a thing, but I still don’t think I would try it!The Freedom Holder Glue Mount is available in single or double hook models.
