Catching Bass Like A Pro by Steve Price and Guy Eaker
Falcon Publ - 2000 ISBN 1-58592-082-7

I guess I’ve read a hundred “my-story” books on bass fishing over the years and, while the formula is more or less the same, I always enjoy reading the story behind the successful angler we see on tour.
Steve Price’s book is one of those and more. Along with the required “how-I- catch bass” stuff , Steve gives you a little insight into the inner workings of a man about to make a career and life changing decision, as Guy Eaker contemplates giving up 26 years of security and tenure to pursue an opportunity to chase little green fish for big bucks!

Of course, there is PLENTY of the “how-I-catch-bass” in the book as well. Throughout the book the authors sprinkle examples from Guys tournament career to illustrate various points, sort of a been there, done that kind of thing. A pro like Eaker has such a wealth of knowledge it would be impossible to get it all down in one book, but this book does cover a wide range of subjects from lures to weather, and topwaters to trophy bass.

Two sections of the book I particularly like are “Turning Pro” and “Obtaining Sponsorships”.
These two chapters offer invaluable insight into the world of professional bass fishing and are a must read for anyone thinking of becoming a pro!

Overall, I would highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn more about being a pro, catching more bass, or just the story of another good ol’ boy makes good!
